Message from the President

As many of us can attest, the landscape of healthcare is continuously evolving. Needless to say, managing physician practices is not getting any easier! With increasing demands and ever-changing regulations, it can be quite overwhelming. As healthcare managers and administrators, however, it is our role to keep abreast of these changes and develop strategies to lead through this transformation. NJMGMA’s goal is to provide resources to embrace these changes and drive results at your respective practices. With monthly educational webinars and quarterly seminars available to you as members, I urge you to take advantage of these resources and empower yourselves to achieve your personal and professional goals.

It is my honor and privilege to serve as NJMGMA’s new President. With our Board, comprised of talented and experienced leaders from various backgrounds, I am confident that we will continue to serve our members well. Thank you to our Past President, Joan Hendler, and welcome to our newest Board members, Mark Andino (North Jersey Chair), Anita Dean (Marketing Chair), and Jason Krisna (Legislative Chair). Together with our Executive Team led by Dawn Wilno, we will continue to strive to provide tools and resources to enable each of our members to become better practice managers and healthcare leaders.

New Jersey MGMA continues to be one of the nation’s strongest state chapters with the annual Practice Management Conference (PMC) being the largest state MGMA conference in the country! This year’s conference takes place June 5-7 at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. I hope to see you there, as we have representatives presenting on a number of great topics including operations, risk and compliance, patient-centered care, human resources, finance, and organizational governance. This truly is an excellent opportunity to learn from industry experts and network with your peers from throughout the state.

Thank you all for being NJMGMA members and entrusting us to help lead the effort to improve healthcare in New Jersey. Together, with our nearly 1,000 members, I hope we can make significant strides in the coming years to elevate New Jersey to one of the nation’s leading providers in healthcare. Please let us know how we can better serve you as members. We encourage your feedback and look forward to exceeding your expectations.

Regards,

Donald Callahan, MBA, FACMPE
